Lots of people ask us what kind of skateboards they should get as there are many different types with various shapes and sizes. Below is a simple description on each of the main boards we come across and their uses to help you decide what is best for you. We use a mix of cruisers and longboards at our sessions as we find them to be easy skateboards to learn on as our lessons. Our lessons are not based in the skateparks so the big wheels provide a much smoother ride :)! ✨ Longboards 34-40 Inch For getting around the neighbourhood, for your commute to work, or just for fun. The longer boards feel super stable to ride and give you extra space to put your feet which is helpful when you are learning. These boards also have nice big and soft wheels which make the ride smoother on footpaths. ✨ Cruiser 27-32 InchFor getting around the neighbourhood, for your commute to work, or just for fun. Features the big wheels for a smooth ride but are shorter than longboard, so slightly smaller and easier to carry when you have to pick up your board and walk with it on your commute or fit it into your suitcase when you are going on holiday. It can also be easier to do shaper turns when you are starting out. ✨ Street SkateboardFor the streets and skateparks, best for making sharper turns (tick tacking) and if you are wanting to learn more technical tricks as you develop your skills. Smaller, harder wheels that are perfect for skateparks. We hope that information helps you decide. You can try out these boards at one of our sessions. Book Here. Gina ReedCo-Founder Wellness Riders
